Country music legend Dolly Parton will always be associated with her trademark look: big blonde hair, classic blush and eyeshadow, and a long-sleeved outfit. It doesn’t matter whether she’s out partying, receiving a music award, or touring stadiums across the world, the country icon always sticks to her style. However, when she entered the music scene in the 1960s, production companies didn’t want her to wear any makeup because they believed her natural looks were more relatable.
In an interview, Parton revealed that, growing up poor, she couldn’t afford any makeup and would just stain her lips with medicine instead of buying an expensive lipstick. If you check the internet for younger photos of the singer, you will have an idea of what she looks like without any makeup even though she never posts pictures of herself makeup-free nowadays. She has even admitted to sleeping with a full face of makeup in case of an “emergency!”
