The bear’s mournful roar echoed like a storm trapped inside four walls. Hana stood frozen, the sound burrowing into her chest. Whatever this was, it wasn’t just survival. Then the door burst open, slamming against the wall as police flooded in, voices sharp, boots louder than the tension already in the air.
“Stay calm, everyone!” one officer barked. Without flinching, Hana stepped forward, hands up, voice steady. “Please, keep your distance,” she warned, pointing to the fragile creature. And then, almost as if in response, the bear turned. It strolled toward the open door, then paused, glancing back at Hana, eyes searching as if asking her something.
