A Nurse Had Trained for Every Emergency, But Then a Bear Showed Up!

Cries From The Well

The cries grew sharper with each step, desperate and echoing through the thickening trees. At last, they reached an old stone well, its mouth cracked with age. The sounds came from deep inside. The bear stopped beside it, eyes locked on Hana, urging her without a sound.

A chill rose from the opening, carrying damp air and the raw edge of fear. Hana leaned over, but the darkness revealed nothing—only the cries, thin and urgent. Peter pulled a rope from his pack, looping it around his shoulder. “This should hold my weight,” he said. “I’ll go down.” Hana swallowed hard. Whatever waited below, it wouldn’t be easy.
