A Nurse Had Trained for Every Emergency, But Then a Bear Showed Up!
Eyes in the Dark
Peter’s flashlight beam cut through the suffocating darkness, finally reaching the farthest edges of the well. His heart pounded as the faint rustling sounds grew sharper—tiny skitters, like claws on the stone, movement just beyond the light. He held his breath, straining to see what lurked in the silence.
Then the beam landed on them. Eyes—dozens of them—glowed from the shadows, unblinking and unnatural. Small, twisted shapes writhed just out of reach, their movements strange and unnerving. Cold sweat broke across Peter’s skin. The air grew heavier, sharper. And then it hit him—he wasn’t alone down here. Not even close.
