Mayim Bialik Corrected an Interviewer at the 2014 SAG Awards
Not every red carpet mishap involves tripping over a gown—sometimes the awkwardness comes from the questions. At the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards, while being interviewed by TNT, Mayim Bialik was asked if starring on “The Big Bang Theory” meant people assumed she could solve calculus “at the drop of a hat.”
With perfect composure, she replied, “Um, I actually was trained in calculus for several years. Yeah, I’m a neuroscientist, so. You may not have known that.” The quick correction left the interviewer flustered while she remained poised. The exchange quickly made headlines as a textbook example of why interviewers should always do their homework.
