Kirk Douglas – Palm Springs, $7.4 Million
Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, before his passing in 2021 at the age of 103, was one of the last surviving stars of the Golden Age of American Cinema. With a career that spanned decades and numerous accolades to his name, the actor remained popular despite the changing times! Douglas came a long way from his first film, The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, and even became a celebrity blogger in his later years!
While the Spartacus star lived with his son, Michael Douglas, for health and safety reasons in his last years of life, he once lived in a palatial home in Palm Springs. While alive, Douglas rented out the home on Airbnb for between $450 and $9000 a night! But the house hit the market after Douglas’s passing. The estate featured five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a swimming pool, and many luxurious amenities. It also had a garden walkway signed by many of the famous figures who had visited the home over the years. The asking price was just shy of $7.5 million, but it sold for more than that in just a week! Yet Douglas had originally purchased the home in the 70s for just $400,000.
