Taylor’s “Lover” album was deeply inspired by her relationship with Joe, who she called “Gorgeous” on “Reputation. And who doesn’t know that Joe also co-wrote many of the songs on the “Folklore” album? It took months after the release of that album for Taylor to finally tell the world that Joe was the person behind the pseudonym ‘William Bowery’ who’d collaborated with her on the album.
She also revealed how he worked on “Betty” and “Exile.” Little did we know the lyrics were like a tapestry of soon-to-come happenings, and Taylor gave us so many signs that she was wrapping up that era of her life.
