Kim Kardashian, the reality star and fashion icon, made a huge splash at the 2022 Met Gala. For the “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” theme, she wore the original Jean Louis gown that Marilyn Monroe famously wore in 1962 to serenade President John F. Kennedy. The dress, covered in over 6,000 hand-sewn crystals, was loaned to Kim by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum.
To fit into the iconic gown, she lost 16 pounds in just three weeks. With platinum blonde hair, a white fur stole, and diamond earrings, Kim paid a stunning tribute to Monroe. Her choice sparked plenty of debate, though.
