These two eagles look like they’re starring in the forest version of a soap opera—complete with slow-motion wing flaps and talon-flashing drama. The stake is a slightly frozen pile of leftovers that apparently warrants a midair duel. It’s hard to say who’s winning, but it’s safe to guess neither’s backing down without a few feathers ruffled.

Meanwhile, the magpies aren’t even pretending to care. One’s already taking off like a battle among the big guys is just background noise, and the other is pacing the edge like it’s seen this fight ten times already. At this point, they probably know which eagle cries first.
