Bob Newhart – Died in 2024

In the 1950s and ’60s, Bob Newhart rose to fame with his deadpan stand-up style, making history when The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart became the first comedy album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts. He later conquered TV with The Bob Newhart Show in the ’70s and won a Primetime Emmy decades later for his role as Professor Proton on The Big Bang Theory.
Newhart died at home in Los Angeles on July 18, 2024, just a year after the death of his wife, Ginnie. He was 94. Though gone, his legacy as one of comedy’s sharpest voices continues to resonate.
