Being part of the Partridge Family was a dream come true in the 1970s. So, after actress Susan Dey played the role of Laurie Partridge for four years, everyone was shocked when she revealed that she had no acting background prior to joining the sitcom!
Yet, the role was just the beginning for Dey. Afterward, she took the iconic role of Grace Van Owen on L.A. Law, which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. After her successful career, Dey has now retired from acting. Her last roles were as Dr. Breene in Third Watch and Dianna Davis in Rain in 2004 and 2003, respectively.
