Lola Knew Something Was Wrong
Lola had just given birth to eleven squirming, healthy pups. She was tired and worn out, but she wasn’t done. As Dr. Greene worked to revive the still pup, Lola slowly stood up. No one expected it because she should’ve been resting, but somehow, she could see the problem. She walked over to where the team huddled and gently nudged the tiny body with her nose.
It wasn’t frantic, just a soft and sure touch. Like a mother telling her baby, “I’m here. Come back.” The room fell silent. For all the vet’s tools and training, sometimes, it’s a mother’s touch that makes the most significant difference.
