Amazingly, a few of the planes managed to land just three feet apart from each other, without touching. Even more incredible, most of the aircraft have remained in good condition throughout the years. Only a few broken tails and wings litter the ocean floor. This is part of what makes the graveyard such a fantastic discovery. Had more planes been damaged or even destroyed, historians would likely not have been as interested.
By taking pictures of these planes from every angle, Mueller has managed to bring history to life. The photos are especially helpful for those many historians who are not ready to dive down underneath the ocean.
